2 Introduction
This document describes
the MTMsat TWO WAY ISP product as well as its features, service
levels and coverage.
MTMsat has started to operate a new range of IP
Backbone Connectivity Services: TWO WAY ISP.
With these DVB based services, MTMsat introduces of a
new range of Internet Access Solutions, which are flexible in
bandwidth allocation, as well as in service levels and pricing,
meeting the needs of a broad range of Customers.
The new TWO WAY ISP service offers flexible IP
Backbone connectivity at a flat rate and is available on Ku-Band and
C-Band, uplinking from and downlinking to Satellite Access
facilities Burum, The Netherlands.
3 Description of services
3.1
General description
The TWO WAY ISP portfolio consists of three
different services, each one tailored and priced to the needs of the
Customer. Each service starts with a minimum downstream bandwidth of
512Kbps. The upstream bandwidth can principally be between 64 kbps
and 4,375 Mbps.
The TWO WAY ISP Services include the following
main elements:
·
A full Duplex, Simplex and/or Asymmetric satellite
link between Burum and the remote customer earth station(s)
·
Satellite Access facilities via BizarNet’s
earthstation in
Burum, The Netherlands
·
Multiple Tier 1 IP transit connectivity, directly
to the US and European backbones
·
24hrs/365 days service
monitoring and customer care
·
Point to Point, or Point to Multipoint

The TWO WAY ISP Services Portfolio
The TWO WAY ISP Services Portfolio consists of three
standard services, as listed in the table hereunder. The services
differ in Bandwidth and Contention ratios to burst.
·
TWO WAY ISP
Gold
·
TWO WAY ISP Silver
·
TWO WAY ISP Bronze
The customers bandwidth is provisioned at a Committed
Information Rate (CIR), with a possibility to Burst to a higher
capacity (The Maximum Information Rate: MIR), during peak traffic
periods. The MIR is always twice the bandwidth of the CIR.
The Contention Ratio to Burst determines the type of
service. (A Contention Ratio to Burst of 1:4, means a one in four
chance that you can burst to the MIR, i.e. 25% chance to burst)
| Service name | Service type |
Burst Maximum | Maximum Information rates up to |
| TWO
WAY ISP Gold | Contention Ratio to Burst 1:2 | 2 X Committed
information rate | 8 Mbps |
| TWO
WAY ISP Silver | Contention Ratio to Burst 1:4 | 2 X Committed
information rate | 4 Mbps |
| TWO

All services are
available on Ku and C-Band.
Fair use policy on Bursting:
In order to ensure that customers
equally receive their burst within their service level, MTMsat
applies a fair use policy to bursting.
If the monitored use of a customer is
constantly above the contracted service level, the service level
will either be upgraded, or the bandwidth use of the customer will
be limited.
3.2.1
Special Service Requests
Special requests are requests of the customer
that do not fall under the above-described standard services. MTMsat
will process these requests as a project-delivery and a proposal
will be send out per individual case.
